Ylseria

Eons ago their world was filled with magic.  Magic based on the elements the gods had bestowed upon their land.  Fire:  the ability to bring forth light, flame, and heat.  Wind:  the ability to bend the very air to the whim of a human hand.  Water:  the ability to call upon the sustenance that every being needs to live.  And Earth:  the ability to make plants grow, and destroy or create mountains.  As with any magic and power, comes responsibility.  One mage, Ragaroth, overstepped the bounds of his powers, his greed to rule an obsession, and his exploration of magic twisted and tainted it beyond recognition.  During his reign war raged, as all of Ylseria battled to keep their world free.  Eventually Ragaroth was killed in a bloody battle.  But with his death, a shockwave of all the tainted magic he had stored within himself exploded, affecting Ylseria in ways the people did not understand.

The Elves could feel the difference in the land though, and it sickened them.  So, their Elder called the Twelve Tribes together at the Port Berlay.  The Elder had his best jewelry maker create two necklaces: one a crescent moon, the other a sun, and both held opalescent stones that swirled and changed in color.  Four Elven mages bespelled the necklaces, and sent them through the vale, letting the magic take the necklaces to where they would be needed.

“Someday, another mage will come and follow in Ragaroth’s footsteps.  He may even be worse…and this time…Ylseria will have champions to vanquish the mage, and cleanse this world completely.  When that happens…and the ground no longer cries…then the Elves shall return.”

Then, the Elves left Ylseria to find a world where their elderly did not die from the sickness of the land, and their children would not cry from the land’s heartache.

This is the story of two girls who receive the necklaces of the Elves, and are brought to the world of Ylseria…the adventures they have…the people they meet…the relationships that they make…and the world that they are suppose to save.
